Newsletter - January 2008

Dear reader

Welcome to the new online newsletter, please email your fishing stories,articles or views to the club. The committees are built up on volunteers giving up their spare time to make this a successfull club in which all members can enjoy, so please support them in their activities.

Fishing Committee

As we head into the new year some nice specimen fish have already come to the scales from boat & shore, Mike Barnes had a whiting of 1-12-15 from shore and a wreck conger of 65-1-10 by  John Bovey (pictured below)

Januarys competition will be held on Sunday 20th January with the named species being Best Flatfish.
New members evening is on Saturday 26th January - all members welcome with FREE Buffet provided by entertainments committee.
Please note the Presentation Night will be held on Sunday 17th February after weigh in.
Mike Wall has volunteered for Fishing Chairman this year as Tim Bird is stepping down - Well done Mike.
Still need a cup custodian.

Management Committee

The Clubs AGM meeting is just around the corner on Monday 25th February at 8pm, the list for new committee members is now displayed on the clubs notice board with still some vacant spaces - volunteers needed please.
Saturday 9th February is the clubs annual Dinner & Dance Night - Tickets �21.

Entertainments Committee

Barry Amer & Paul Wright has decided to carry on entertainments this year so please support the entertainments which they provide. We will be kicking off with a free buffet on New Members evening.
Games night will be held on Saturday 23rd February with light bites.

Paul may be organising a coach trip sometime this year please email the club with any ideas where to go,etc.

On some occassions helpers are needed please email us if you can help in any way with the clubs activities.
